‘Articulation brought about in a delicate way, unusual swiftness and self-confidence, as well as coloratura style... A soloist of this class refines every note’ – this is what Austrian newspaper ‘Salzburger Nachrichten’ wrote about him. The Hungarian Gabor Boldoczki gained his status as the greatest trumpet player of his generation with this brilliant play. German newspaper ‘Süddeutsche Zeitung’ named him a worthy successor to the king of the trumpet – Maurice André.
His appearance at the Salzburg Festival in 2004 is a vital point in his biography, when he became the first soloist invited to perform a Michael Haydn trumpet concerto. At present he is regularly invited to give concerts in South America, Japan and China. He finds himself well in both classical repertoire and contemporary music.
