His name translated into English means ‘wonder’ and bears the promise of a great artist. Ingolf Wunder is a fantastic piano virtuoso who began his musical adventure at the age of four, learning how to play the violin. If it hadn't been for a caring teacher who noticed the pianist in Ingolf, we would not have been such an outstanding musician, laureate of the second prize at the 14th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2010.
Since that time, the career of the young musician from Klagenfurt has accelerated. He has been giving concerts all around the world i.a. UK, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, South America and the USA. He has performed in the most prestigious concert halls in the world: Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Mariinsky Theatre and Philharmonic in Saint Petersburg, Warsaw Philharmonic, Wigmore Hall in London, Tonhalle in Zurich, Suntory Hall in Tokyo and Théâtre National des Champs-Elysées.
Since 2010 he has been an exclusive artist for Deutsche Grammophon, who released his first recording of competition compositions by Chopin in 2011.
