The 2nd Violin Concerto by Béla Bartók was written in the late 1930s for young violinist Zoltán Székely. It is a showcase of the composer's talent, being at the same time a dream occasion to present the skill of the soloist and the orchestra. The Csárdás motifs, fragments of marches, and disturbing, mysterious atmosphere, will evoke fascination with the listeners.
The Bartók masterpiece will be presented to the Szczecin audience by talented German violinist Christian Tetzlaff together with the Symphony Orchestra. Every year the musician performs over 100 times all around the world. During last year's artistic season he played on stages in Leipzig, London, Paris, Tokyo and Vienna, just to name a few of the important.
Szczecin music lovers will hear his unusual interpretation of classical music, with a wide spectrum of hues, sometimes wild and disturbing. As Christian Tetzlaff says himself, his uncommon violin is far from “the banal Stradivarius”.
