After the great boom of hardcore techno in the 1990s and at the beginning of the new millennium, the genre was slowly becoming exhausted. In fact, this somewhat dark and sharp type of techno did not celebrate triumphs as in the times of the famous band The Prodigy. However, thanks to the activity of a handful of enthusiasts, electronic sounds emitted with the speed of pendolino trains have survived. Among these is Julien Chastagnol from Toulouse in France. He debuted in 2008 as Doc Colibri by releasing several dark recordings onto the Internet.
The stage name (from the famous jazz track by Thelonious Monk) Ruby My Dear was adopted in 2010. His interests have gone through such genres as reggae, acid, trance, drum & bass, as well as folk, funk and rock. That is still the case. Enriching the sound language of techno style, with surprising themes such as those coming from classical or jazz music, has given this genre a second life. In the clutter of aggressive, electronic, technoid sounds, metal "fuzz" can appear as well as opera soprano, gliding over the industrial atmosphere of music. Welcome to the postmodern world of Ruby My Dear.
