It so happens that Lucjan Kydrynski once wrote about the capital of the Monarchy in the time following the Congress of Vienna: "Music in Vienna was the best factor facilitating communication in this multinational city." Likewise, the West Side Sinfonietta project, where Strauss's music (among others) combines the musicians of the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin and the National Forum of Music in Wrocław. The exchange of musical ideas and skills, making music together, but above all, a lot of positive energy flowing from the stage – all this and more awaits us.
Sinfonietta’s concert should include compositions by the Strauss family. This time, however, the musical circle will be enriched by pieces from Niccolo Paganini, the most famous violinist in the world, and composer Julius Fučík (1872-1916), an extremely popular Czech composer of the Austro-Hungarian era of 400 marches, polkas and waltzes.
The conduct of the orchestra is related to the way the Strausses’ did it – the role of conductor is played by the first violinist who doesn’t perform the task with a baton, but with his bow. Outstanding musicians, concert masters Paweł Maślanka and Marcin Danilewski embark on this task in the Sinfonietta. Together with the excellent bass player Jacek Sosan they constitute the core of the ensemble.
