“One of the best string quartets in Poland” – as journalist Robert Kamyk describes them. Krzysztof Penderecki, who evaluates their interpretation of classical and contemporary music with awe, agrees with the above. Anna Mika from “Neue” foresees for them a way into mastery.
Meccore String Quartet is made up of young talented musicians renown in Europe and America. They are driven by one rule – the most important things include: harmony, happiness and passion. It is youthful expression combined with outstanding skills and true virtuosity. Rebellious, zestful energetic – this is what Meccore String Quartet is like. The musicians, who are said to be the “bad boys” of Polish quartets, prove that music, like true talent, knows no limits.
During their concert in the Chamber Hall of the Szczecin Philharmonic, alongside compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, we will hear a piece by Claude Debussy, the composer whose material Meccore String Quartet recorded on their latest record.
The quartet was established in 2007, and for the past decade it has appeared on the best stages in London, New York, Vienna, Madrid and Berlin. In 2011 they were nominated for the award Paszport Polityki in the category classical music. Back then the jury stressed bold breaking of conventions and stereotypes in classical music.
