Miłosz Bembinow, Andrzej Borzym Jr., Krzesimir Dębski, Krzysztof Herdzin, Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska, Paweł Łukaszewski, Stanisław Moryto, Tomasz J. Opałka and Piotr Tabakiernik – nine contemporary Polish composers have created pieces to Shakespeare's sonnets.
. This unique project, created for the 400th anniversary of the author's death, was made especially for the proMODERN ensemble. The compositions presented are proof of the universality of Shakespeare's verse and the ever-powerful poetry. The proMODERN sextet is the only vocal band in Poland specialising in performing contemporary music. The ensemble consists of outstanding singer-soloists and well-educated musicians.
Their repertoire encompasses pieces from classical music of the last five decades with the latest compositions being written especially for them. Undoubtedly, one their biggest successes is winning two Fryderyk 2015 music awards for their debut album ' Where are you. Pieces from Warsaw'. Composer Marian Borkowski says the following about the band: Six exceptionally talented artists, who continually develop their skill with great dedication in order to create a vocal format of the highest artistic value.
