We are happy that this program includes this unique recital. Tomasz Konieczny will be our guest. He is currently one of the hottest surnames among singers. Let us explain the uniqueness of the whole event.
First, let us talk about Franz Schubert and his "Winterreise" that is the series of songs, which in English bear the title "Winter journey". Cold, dark landscape, wind, anxiety. A man wounded by unrequited love travels through the city, the village, among rivers, streams and meadows, filled with fear and a sense of rejection and without hope. What draws attention in Schubert's songs is the portrayal of music as it follows very closely the text, expresses its emotions and echoes its content.
Tomasz Konieczny is a perfect interpreter of German music. He was especially fond of great roles in Richard Wagner's operas. From the theatrical stages in Leipzig, Lübeck, Mannheim and Stuttgart, through Paris, Salzburg, Berlin and Madrid, he went on to the Metropolitan Opera in New York. In only 2019, he appeared in MET, the Vienna State Opera, the Grand Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw, and the Wagner Festival in Bayreuth.
There is also the third protagonist – Stanisław Barańczak who wrote his own lyrics to the music of Franz Schubert in 1994. This means that he reversed the initial process of the series. Barańczak's text talks about the dark reality of the PPR, namely the Polish People's Republic. While reading, we see our city, Szczecin perhaps in October of 1956, perhaps in an October sometime later. There are chimneys, cranes, dirty streets and lanterns casting ghostly light. The traveller goes on foot, by car, by lorry and by plane through the world of grey life, where a bitter memory becomes a guide.

Obrazy muzyki. Muzyka w obrazach | Bartek BarczykUnikatowe portrety wykonane przez Bartka Barczyka, to efekt spotkań z drugim człowiekiem, to zapis sytuacji, chwili, momentu.
