We cordially invite you to the concert marking the 50th anniversary of Piotr Moss's creative work. Last season, we worked with the composer on the recording of the songs of Mieczysław Karłowicz in his orchestration, performed by Małgorzata Walewska and our Orchestra. This time, his music will appear on the stage thanks to is honourable jubilee.
Intuitively, we feel that Piotr Moss's creativity is like saying something in one's own words. In everyday life, we also have certain canons of expression, behaviour and ways of dealing with specific situations. Sometimes, however, we look for words or solutions that will typically be ours and will become carriers of what we mean simply. And although his studies (with Grażyna Bacewicz, Piotr Perkowski and Nadia Boulanger) were influenced by the neoclassical trend, the composer himself is referred to as a neo-romantic. Searching for an individual style is not visible in form but in his musical expression.
Piotr Moss is a versatile composer as he has written orchestral, sacral, chamber and solo pieces, but he also composed music for theatre along with wit jazz, literary and popular songs. He has won several dozen awards at composer competitions throughout Europe. He lives permanently in Paris, where in 2002 he was honoured with the Order of Arts and Letters. We heartily recommend listening to the interview with the composer on the Ninateka portal as part of the "Zapiski z współczesości" series before the concert. He does not reveal his plans for the coming years, but he talks about writing an opera and entering the world of film music as two things that he has not yet realized fully in his own view.
Dear Maestro, we wish you not only for the next 50 years of artistic work but also the fulfilment of your dreams.
P.S. Those of you who have acquainted with the life of Paul Dukas and are terrified by the information that the composers destroy most of their works, recognizing them as imperfect, we hurry to inform that Piotr Moss's works have been published in the most prestigious music publications for the last 50 years.

Obrazy muzyki. Muzyka w obrazach | Bartek BarczykUnikatowe portrety wykonane przez Bartka Barczyka, to efekt spotkań z drugim człowiekiem, to zapis sytuacji, chwili, momentu.
