A world-renowned pianist and one of the most beautiful piano concertos of the Romantic era – that's our proposal for another Friday of classical music at its best. This evening, Zee Zee (Zhang Zuo) will perform for you – a keyboard virtuoso recording for the most prestigious music labels.
The artist will present herself on our stage in the famous and beloved Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 54, by the German composer Robert Schumann (1810-1856).
This concerto can boldly be called "symphonic." Both the soloist and the orchestra share a common goal and a common path here. Although this unique piano concerto in Schumann's repertoire lacks virtuosic brilliance, it remains one of history's most frequently performed and listened-to piano concertos.
Also included in the program is the Symphonic Poem "In Nature's Realm" by the great Czech composer Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904). The work reflects Dvořák's fascination with nature, which was his renowned source of inspiration.
The concert will be concluded with Symphony No. 4 by another Czech composer, Bohuslav Martinů (1890-1959). He was among the leading composers of 20th-century music. Before he wrote his first symphony, he had already composed nearly 300 other works.
