Queen's Six is a vocal sextet founded on the 450th anniversary of ascendance to the throne of Elizabeth I. From the beginning, they have been the court ensemble of the current British Queen Elizabeth II. Their home is the Windsor castle – her official headquarters. In every week, they sing during eight services at the Royal Chapel of St. George and take part in official and private events in the life of the royal family. Some of their performances, such as the one during the wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, become events of global recognition.
In the periods for which they are granted royal permission to leave the walls of the royal residence, they perform all over the world with an extremely wide repertoire – from sacral music and songs by King Henry VIII to jazz and works by Michael Jackson and Stevie Wonder.
And so at our Philharmonic, we will be able to listen to the singers performing on a daily basis for some of the most famous people in the world! And owing to the holiday season, the most popular compositions and songs associated with Christmas will be heard.
