From September 22, 2021, the festival of minimalism takes place in the Philharmonic space. From the very beginning, it attracts and intrigues with the forms presented. We have already experienced Paweł Mykietyn's compositional performance and the Polish-German conference "The Art of Life – Less is Better", whose guests included Malka Kafka, Oskar Zięta, Mira Marcinów, and Daria Prochenka, and Karol Paciorek, a well-known internet artist in the role of a host. There was also the opening of the "Little whirlpool in the middle of the ocean" exhibition, available in the Level 4 Gallery until November 19. What else is there in the 2021MDF Festival calendar?
Friday, September 24
We start Friday with workshops in the relaxation zone prepared by our partner, Clochee, a Szczecin-based company, at the Gallery at the Orthodox Church. Relaxing face yoga workshops await you, which will introduce a minimalist and natural approach to beauty and the principles of caring for your skin and Instawanna, which will give you the chance to take a selfie in very unusual scenery. You will be able to use the Clochee zone until the end of the week.
We will end the day with a concert of guests from across the western border.
Extrawelt duo composed of Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe, who set themselves the goal of moving the audience into the electronic world of club music will play. All this will take place with minimalist elegance and impressive visualizations in the Philharmonic Lobby. Start at 20:00.
Saturday, September 25
Saturday combines two aspects: education and classical music. All this in a minimalist edition. At noon, the therapeutic concert
"Autypody" will begin in the Chamber Hall – an event for children aged 7+. A unique scenario and prepared music will draw attention to the role of music therapy in the social development of children with various dysfunctions. In addition, this is a unique opportunity to hear stories about diversity and the ability to tune in to others, especially people with special educational needs.
Saturday ends with a concert by ÉxQuartet with a guest performance by Patryk Matwiejczuk. Inspired by the works of the French composer Erik Satie, they will make the music and the environment in which we find ourselves, i.e. the Lobby of the Philharmonic in Szczecin, influence your mood and perhaps other aspects of everyday life. During this concert, ÉxQuartet will present two premiere compositions written by violinist Łukasz Górewicz and violist Grzegorz Sadowski. We are beginning at 20:00.
Sunday, September 26
Sunday, the final day of MUSIC.DESIGN.FORM Festival 2021, which features a concert of the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, focused on minimalist music, but not in terms of academia. Instead, it is a journey through various aspects of the perception of minimalism by artists such as Arvo Part, John Adams, Michael Nyman, or the Polish accent in the form of Tomasz Sikorski's compositions.
The orchestra will be conducted by Jonathan Stockhammer, who as a young conductor is known for his incredible talent for presenting symphonic art, but also for a wide range of cooperation with artists from all walks of life – from young musicians, through rappers, to great stars such as Imogen Heap or Pet Shop Boys. The concert starts at 19:00.
Tickets at PLN 55-35 are available on the
EVENT PAGE and at the Philharmonic Ticket Office.
Everything you can find at MUSIC. DESIGN. FORM Festival 2021 has been additionally adorned with illuminations prepared by Pushka Studio, which you can see every day on the façade of our building from 20:50 to midnight.
