We are more than pleased to announce that Mrs. Dorota Serwa, the director of Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin has been invited to the group of ambassadors of EXPO 2020 Dubai and the Philharmonic received the status of the event's Partner.
Our institution will appear in the material promoting EXPO 2020; it will also cooperate with Agency for Investment and Trade S.A.- which is responsible for Poland's participation in the Exhibition – in creating audiovisual content
Dorota Serwa has been the head of the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic Orchestra in Szczecin since 2012. She has introduced many organizational and repertoire changes to the institution, opening it to various fields of art. Apart from symphonic and chamber concerts and recitals, jazz, electronic and folk music is performed. There are also art exhibitions and film shows.
Dorota Serwa is the originator and initiator of music and educational events, such as: Tournament of Real Musicians, SoundLab – Philharmonic laboratory of electronic music, SENIORita music workshop series, social campaign Hearing Good Sounds, Music.Design.Form festival. She received the reward for the Szczecin citizen of the year 2016.

EXPO 2020 Ambassadors there are people who are close to the way of talking about Poland through the prism of the slogan "Poland. Creativity inspired by nature ”and the creators of the Polish Pavilion and its exhibition.
Today
, August 5th, the Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Lilianna Krych has began recording the soundtrack for the installation (immersive experience) "Poland. Landscapes of Creativity ”. The music for the project was composed by Tomasz Opałka, and Przemek Danowski is the sound director and main producer of the recordings
For the purposes of the recording, the
Philharmonic has shared a symphony hall, instruments, equipment and provided technical support. It will be also participating in the promotion of materials registered during the session.
The installation, showing "the most iconic Polish successes in the form of interactive landscapes of creativity", will be the fifth, final part of the permanent exhibition of the Polish Pavilion at the World Exhibition in Dubai. The consortium of Science Now, Stellar Fireworks and Tellart is responsible for the creative concept and narration of the Pavilion tour path, as well as the production of multimedia materials.
Participation in the promotion of
EXPO 2020 in Dubai and the opportunity to present ourselves among 190 countries is an honor and an opportunity for us to popularize Polish culture, especially music. We would like to present our excellent orchestra, as well as the originality of the architecture of the Philharmonic building, its modernity, boldness of formal and functional solutions, share the beauty that surrounds us, music that is a space for dialogue and connects more than words.
World Exhibitions are the largest promotional and economic events in the world. Their goal is a comprehensive presentation of the cultural, scientific and technical heritage of states and nations.
EXPO 2020 in Dubai will be the first world exhibition organized in an Arab country. It will run from October 1st, 2021 to March 31st, 2022.
The motto of the exhibition: Connecting Minds, Creating the Future – Connecting minds, creating the future, points out that the challenges of today's world are so complex that it is impossible to solve them in isolation.
The Polish Day will take place on December 7, 2021. It will be preceded by the Polish-Arab Economic Forum.
