The Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and the initiator of the project, Leszek Cichoński, invite you to an extraordinary concert, during which the famous hits of Jimi Hendrix will sound in wholly new arrangements.
Many artists have rearranged their oeuvre into new works, played with the accompaniment of a symphony orchestra. Such a measure has been adopted by the international kings of alternative music: Metallica, Sting, and national: Coma, Lady Pank and Perfect. As a result, the sound of well-known pieces, enriched with classic string and wind instruments, acquires a new quality.
Jimi Hendrix was a virtuoso guitarist whose genius and stage charisma forever secured him a place in the rock pantheon. However, he never played his music with a symphony orchestra during his lifetime. Leszek Cichoński is a guitarist, culture animator, initiator of Thanks Jimi Festival and the action of breaking the Guinness Guitar Record in Wrocław – together with the graduates of the Wrocław Academy of Music, Marlena Mruz and Jakub Zwarycz from Scoreart, developed and arranged original orchestrations with incredible sound, form and pulse. It is the world's first symphonic program with music by Jimi Hendrix to be released on an album. The disc Thanks Jimi Symphonic by Leszek Cichonski and Friends was recorded live at the National Forum of Music in Wrocław. The concert gathered over 1000 people. All the material from this Fryderyk-nominated album will be heard during the concert at the Philharmonic in Szczecin. The biggest surprise in the program is "Hey Joe", arranged by Cichoński as Bolero! The album's title track and the concert's final is his composition "Thanks Jimi".
The most famous hits, such as Foxy Lady, Little Wing, Voodoo Child, or Hey Joe in an entirely new, enriched sound, can be heard during the concert of Jimi Hendrix Symphonically performed by Jorgos Skolias (vocal), Damian Szewczyk (vocal) and the author of the project Leszek Cichoński, who will sing and play the guitar. The section will feature great instrumentalists: Tomasz Grabowy – bass guitar, Robert Jarmużek – keyboard, Łukasz Sobolak – drums. Jerzy Kosek will conduct the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
