The Penderecki Trio is a new, excellent music ensemble whose members are outstanding instrumentalists, winners of international music competitions taking place worldwide. Their goal is to bring chamber music to new directions and constantly expand the repertoire of the piano trio by creating innovative artistic events. The Penderecki Trio activities will be a tribute to their Patron, the most outstanding Polish composer of our time.
The cellist Claudio Bohórquez is currently one of the most important names in the music world. His victory in the International Music Competition in Geneva in 1995 opened the way to his world career. His younger colleagues are following his path. The violinist Mateusz Makuch is the winner of the Concerto Competition Morningside Music Bridge in Calgary (2013) and several other violin competitions: in Singapore, Athens, Paris, Vienna, London, Kyiv, Rome, Fermo, Sarajevo, Stockholm, Vac and Namur. The pianist Andrzej Wierciński has won, among others, the International Piano Competition in Saint-Priest (2019) and the Polish National Frederic Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw (2015).
The concert will begin with Krzysztof Penderecki's "Chaconna", transcribed by JaeJoon Ryu for piano trio. The famous part of the "Polish Requiem" will be heard for the first time in the interpretation of this performative group. The works of Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvorák emphasize the emotional musical thought in which the band's musicians feel so well and represent the European ethnic elements in a universal musical language the work of Krzysztof Penderecki was firmly rooted.
