We can reveal that the next season of chamber concerts will be marked mainly by string quartets, and therefore a unique opportunity to listen to wind sextet. Since we are fans of this set, we strongly recommend to spend another Sunday evening with us.
The ensemble, which will perform for you the works of Krommer and Beethoven, consists mostly of soloists from our Orchestra. At Friday's concerts, you will find them behind the string groups, they are often entrusted with demanding solo parts in great symphonic works. Each of them also conducts their concert or teaching activities, and sometimes, as this evening, they meet together in chamber ensembles.
There are not many compositions for wind sextets. A word about Krommer. The encyclopedia says that he was born six months after the death of Haydn, and died four years after the death of Beethoven, which quite accurately situates him in time. As far as the space goes, it was mainly Vienna. He left over 300 works. Their analysis shows that he was an unusual lover of wind instruments. Perhaps that is why today, in times of enormous popularity of string quartets, it is wrongly out of the way in concert programs.
We also highly recommend paying attention to Ludwig van Beethoven's Sextet in E flat major. It begins like a good symphony, whose dynamic theme quickly turns into a playful dance. The places where the smile appears on the face exchange with truly virtuoso passages. In short – Beethoven cannot be forged.
