Musical happenings in the city space will begin at 14:00. In various places in Szczecin, local artists will provide music lovers with good sounds. The list of concert venues will appear soon. Participation in these events is free of charge.
The train is one of the most popular means of transport. If you wish to listen to some music aboard one you are condemned to your own headphones. Can this be reversed? Yes, indeed! Those who commute on the Szczecin-Berlin trains on 21st June will be accompanied by live music performed by artists from both Szczecin and Berlin. What a symbolic exchange of cross-border sounds! You merely pay for the train ticket and the concert is included – gratis.
In the evening, at 19:00, the West Side Sinfonietta will perform in the Golden Hall of the Szczecin Philharmonic. This unique ensemble is made up of musicians from the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin and the National Forum of Music. What makes this interesting is that the orchestra is not traditionally led by a conductor but rather by violinists. This role is played by these outstanding musicians and the concertmasters of the orchestras: Paweł Maślanka and Marcin Danilewski. Fantastic double bass player Jacek Sosna and the duo constitute the core of the ensemble. The orchestra's repertoire is varied encompassing both classical pieces and salon music. The concert is free of charge, but you needs to hold a ticket to have a seat. These tickets can be obtained at the ticket office of the Philharmonic beginning Tuesday 6th June from 13:00.
When it begins to get darker and the clocks strike 21:00, the lobby of the Philharmonic will transform into a dancefloor! Silence will flow from the speakers. Three DJs, three various channels, three hundred headphones – Silent Disco! From club music through Polish and foreign pop music to remixes of Polish hits of the 1960s and 1970s. Entry to the disco is free of charge. To enter you needs to hold a free of charge ticket, which can be obtained at the ticket office of the Philharmonic beginning Wednesday 7th June from 13:00.
All these attractions await music lovers on Wednesday 21st June! Begin the summer with a high C!
All the events take place within the social campaign “Hear Good Sounds”. From the outset of the 2016/17 artistic season we test hearing, educate people and show that a good and safe sound is within reach. More information on the campaign can be found on our subsite Hear.
