The winner of the 17th International Chopin Piano Competition will perform for the Szczecin audience, giving a concert on 19th April in the Golden Hall of the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic. This hall is famed for its excellent acoustics. The patron and founder of this event is Lesław Siemaszko, an entrepreneur from Szczecin.
"It was a fantastic feeling to take part in this great competition. Receiving the first prize is a dream come true" – said Seong-Jin Cho, winner of the 17th International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw in 2015. The pianist received a gold medal and an award from the Fryderyk Chopin Society for the best rendition of a polonaise.
Seong-Jin Cho is also a laureate of three prizes from the most important and prestigious piano competitions: the 14th International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow (2011) and 14th Arthur Rubinstein International Piano Master Competition (2014). Following his great success at the International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Seong-Jin Cho has become a recognized pianist around the world and is regarded as one of the most talented pianists of the young generation.
The artist's recital at the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin will take place thanks to the initiative of Lesław Siemaszko, an entrepreneur from Szczecin, who is also the patron of this event.

The debut album of Seong-Jin Cho released by prestigious label Deutsche Grammophon with recordings from the International Chopin Piano Competition is available at the Philharmonic (price – 45 pln). The album has already turned out to be a huge success all over the world with sales topping 130,000.
