On Saturday, June 12th, a real Town of Good Sounds will be created in the hall of the Philharmonic in Szczecin. Take your children, parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents, grandmothers, partners, friends and acquaintances on an amazing journey through the world where hearing is the most important thing! From 12:00 to 4:00 PM we are waiting for you with workshops, concerts and games in the streets, alleys and squares of our new urban harmony zone! Entrance is for free!
The Philharmonic Hall will turn into a very flickering “Town of Good Sounds”, where various workshops for the whole family will be held. There will also be a unique Gamelan band made up of people with intellectual disabilities who can really pull the audience up. We have also planned drumming workshops and of course lots of competitions and quizzes. So it will be a colorful Saturday, possible thanks to the support of our partners – emphasizes Dorota Serwa, director of the Mieczysław Karłowicz Philharmonic in Szczecin
• IN A GOOD TONE STREET (the foyer of the symphonic hall)
Shopping doesn't have to be associated with the noise. The fans of good sounds will be able to buy our CDs and books in the Good Tone Shop with a 20% discount. Opening hours: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• THE AVENUE OF GOOD HEARING (foyer of the symphony hall)
Check how your hearing sense is doing! The partner of the I Hear Good Sounds campaign – Medincus Speech and Hearing Center – invites you to a hearing screening test. In addition, the specialists will answer all bothering questions about hearing prophylaxis. The examination can be performed between 12:00 and 2:30 PM
• SOUND ECOLOGY SQUARE (Philharmonic Hall)
Our next partner – the ecological cosmetics company Clochee – will have a stand in the town. We will be able to transform rubbish into toys there, take part in the charity campaign to save lynxes from Dzika Zagroda in Jabłonowo and draw something for them. The stand is open from 12:00 to 4:00 PM
• WHAT'S HEARING STREET? (Philharmonic Hall)
On this street, the festival sponsor will be waiting for us – DEMANT, the company dealing with hearing care. In addition to the curiosities about the sense of hearing, which you will be able to find out at the stand, you will find some great gadgets and the company's mascot – Doggy D., with whom our youngest listeners will be able to take a picture of themselves, give a high five and ask "what's up?". The stand is open from 12:00 to 4:00 PM
Hearing prevention is very important. Protection against noise prevents permanent hearing damage and allows you to maintain healthy hearing for longer – says Anna Dąbrowska, MD, PhD, head of the branch of the West Pomeranian Hearing and Speech Center MEDINCUS in Szczecin.
During the festival, we want to teach our patients how to protect and care for our ears. Wearing ear muffs in a very noisy environment, turning the volume down and getting used to hearing quieter sounds are just some of the protection measures. It is important to have a hearing test, and it will be possible to do it for free during the Festival – she adds.
SQUARE OF GOOD SOUNDS (stage in the Philharmonic Hall)
12:00 – Welcoming of the residents by the Mayor of the Town, Dorota Serwa
12:15 – Concert of the Gamelan Percussion Orchestra
The orchestra operates at the Association for People with Intellectual Disability „Circle” in Szczecin and is run by professional musicians – Paweł Kornicz, Krzysztof Seroczyński and Katarzyna Michno. The Orff's instruments will play the first violin: an extensive section of percussion instruments, which is the basis of music education. We will break stereotypes again, make the idea of "inclusive culture" a reality and, most importantly, awaken the imagination of younger and older music lovers. The concert program will include famous pieces arranged by Paweł Kornicz and Krzysztof Seroczyński.
13:00 – Workshop of sign language "The Colors of Szczecin"
Younger and older residents of The Town will learn the song "Colors of Szczecin" from our latest album "I lived long and in Szczecin 2" in sign language. Agata Kaczmarczyk and Dariusz Costowy will teach the basics of sign language by learning a song. At the end of the workshop, we will all sign together!
14:00 – Workshop "Small Steps in Ecology"
Workshops for children aged 6-8. During the workshop, the youngest fans of good sounds will learn an ecological song, learn how to segregate rubbish, and solve a recycling quiz. Small gifts are provided for the most active participants. The workshops are organized by the festival's partner – Clochee.
14:30 – Workshops "Samba Batucada for beginners"
Drumming workshops will be conducted by Rafał Krzanowski – a promoter of percussion art in its every version and the head of the Bloco Pomerania group. Children, teenagers and adults will learn the techniques of playing original Brazilian instruments. During the workshops, we will learn a few simple arrangements and create our own unique rhythms.
15:30 – Show Bloco Pomerania – Solidarity Square 1
The Town of Good Sounds will extend beyond the Philharmonic building. The show of the samba group Bloco Pomerania will cause the the good sounds appear on the streets of Szczecin. Samba works mainly on the street, so we will end the festival day full of impressions on the roof of the Dialogue Center „Przełomy”.
