We are happy to announce that during the next online premiere on the
livefilharmonia.szczecin.pl platform we will hear the works of Stefan Kisielewski and Richard Strauss. On Friday, February 12th at 7:00 p.m. the orchestra will be conducted by maestro Rune Bergmann for the first time in new year.
Among the musical works of Stefan Kisielewski, we have selected for you one of the four most famous of his orchestral compositions. The "Concerto for Chamber Orchestra" from 1949 is a typically neoclassical work in which, like in the case of his other works, one can sense the specific idiom of the composer – a mocker, a critic with a sharp style of writing and an extraordinary individualist.
„The humor and natural grace of the Concerto provoke questions of a deeper nature, questions about the role of laughter in times that are not funny at all. Because the fact that the composer is talented in playing with various conventions, slightly parodying them, is one side of the coin. The second is the use of the philosophy of laughter as a weapon in the fight against the absurdities of reality. " [M. Gąsiorowska, Kisielewski, Krakow 2011]
In the second part of the concert, we will hear Richard Strauss's "Metamorphosen" – a piece that immediately after its premiere became widely recognized as Strauss's personal elegy about the destruction of his hometown- Munich.
The Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by our Artistic Director Rune Bergmann. It will be his first online meeting this year with our music lovers.
Feel more than welcome to listen to the KISIELEWSKI | STRAUSS concert on Friday, February 12th at 7:00 p.m. The premiere will take place on the
livefilharmonia.szczecin.pl platform, access to which costs PLN 10/20.
