Katarzyna Zdybel-Nam - bassoon
Katarzyna Zdybel-Nam began her study of the bassoon in 1998 in the State Primary & Secondary Music School in Zamość under the direction of Jerzy Lisak. In the years 2002-2007 she studied in the Academy of Music in Warsaw under the direction of Professor Zbigniew Płużek, completing a post-graduate study programme with honours (Solistenklasse) three years later in the Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart in the class of Professor Marc Engelhardt. From 2009 to 2014 Katarzyna worked on her doctoral dissertation om the class of Professor Czesław Klonowski in the K. Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, obtaining the title of Doctor of the Arts in 2015. Currently, Katarzyna Zdybel-Nam lectures at the Academy.

Katarzyna Zdybel-Nam is a laureate of many international competitions.
Katarzyna Zdybel-Nam performs as soloist and chamber musician. As soloist she has performed with, among others, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra, the Polish Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra in Sopot, the Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Conservatory, Orchestra of the Moscow Philharmonic, Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Warsaw and in Łódź, the K. Namysłowski Symphony Orchestra in Zamość, the Orchestra Filarmonica di Torino, Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, the Leopoldinum Chamber Orchestra in Wrocław and Capella Cracoviensis. In the 2011/2012 season, she has worked as soloist with the Royal Opera in Copenhagen and in the 2013/2014 season in the Swedish National Symphony Orchestra in Göteborg and in the Göteborg opera, also as soloist. She has also worked together with the SWR Saarbrucken-Kaiserslautern and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in Reykjavik, the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne and the National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra.
Katarzyna Zdybel-Nam is a soloist of the Symphony Orchestra of the Wrocław Philharmonic from 2007 and a musician in the Sinfonia Varsovia Orchestra as of 2017.

2014 saw the release of two albums recorded by Katarzyna Zdybel-Nam: Portrait (CD Accord) and Poezja dźwięku [Poetry of Sound] (TV Zamość). In 2017 the artist recorded another album of romantic piano music for bassoon and piano.
