Arkadiusz Adamski – clarinet - (Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice – NOSPR)
For nearly three decades, he has been a clarinettist – soloist of one of the best orchestras in the country – the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice (NOSPR), and also a sought-after lecturer at clarinet courses both in Poland and abroad. He has conducted master classes in the Czech Republic, Spain, Portugal and Belgium.
Arkadiusz Adamski has also been a professor of clarinet at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice since 2001. As a teacher and soloist, he participated, among others, in the international festival ClarinetFest in Vancouver (2007) and Porto (2009). In addition, he is a board member of the European Clarinettist Association; he was also the artistic director of the 4th European Clarinet Congress in Katowice.
In his career, he has performed with great orchestras: Sinfonietta Cracovia Orchestra, Silesian Quartet, Polish Chamber Philharmonic, Warsaw Chamber Opera Orchestra, Belarusian National Symphony Orchestra, The Hilliard Ensemble, NOSPR. He is also a member of The New Art Ensemble.
He is known for his numerous recordings, for example, for the BBC. His albums have been honoured with prestigious awards. The album recorded for the DUX label with works by Krzysztof Penderecki won the Pizzicato Excellentia and Supersonic Award in 2011. The album was recorded with the Clarinet Quartet and the accompaniment of the members of the Dafô string quartet. It was also nominated for the International Classical Music Award 2012 in the category "Chamber Music". His album featuring Sinfonietta No. 2, recorded together with the Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, was nominated for the International Classical Music Award 2017 in the "Contemporary Music" category.
