Agata Igras - flute
Agata Igras is a versatile flutist with over 20 years of musical career and performances in almost 40 countries on 4 continents as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestra member.
For years principal flutist of Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra she now collaborates with Sinfonietta Cracovia and NFM Leopoldinum and she is also a founding member of the unique Gruppo di Tempera piano sextet.
She worked with world renowned flutists like Julius Baker, William Bennett, Robert Aitken, Robert Dick and Patrick Gallois, with whom she performed Doppler’s Concerto for two flutes.
She played under such conductors as Lord Yehudi Menuhin, Krzysztof Penderecki, Emmanuel Krivine, Gerd Albrecht.
The "Real Life Song" album of Polish contemporary songs with soprano – Joanna Freszel, where she recorded all flute parts was awarded with the Orphée d'Or 2016 Prize.
Graduated from the F. Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw where she studied in the flute class of prof. E. Dastych – Szwarc and the Royal Conservatory in the Hague, the Netherlands in the flute class of prof. Rien de Reede and Thies Roorda. Prize winner of numerous solo and chamber music competitions, stipendist of Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for many years.
Graduate and F. Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw and Royal Conservatory in the Hague. She holds post doctoral degree in musical arts, teaches flute and chamber music at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, being regularly invited to lead masterclasses and lectures for flutists and composers around the world and, of course, in Poland.
