Record breaking applications statistics of ILYO 2024
While waiting for the results of the auditions for this year's edition of the International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra, which will be announced on our website on May 17, 2024, we present some statistics on the applications received. Many previous records have been broken, including: the number of applications received and the countries from which they were sent. Thank you for each of them.
Never in the past have we received so many applications as this year. As many as 252 application forms reached us, sent by young musicians from 4 continents. This is a record result.
A record was also broken in the number of countries from which young musicians applied for our orchestral workshops. We received applications from citizens from as many as 30 different countries on 4 continents.
The largest group are of course Europeans. We received applications from the following countries: Poland, Spain, Germany, Great Britain, Portugal, Italy, Ukraine, Romania, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, North Macedonia, Belarus, Denmark, France, Finland, Switzerland, Norway, Serbia and Montenegro.
But we also received applications from countries as distant as: the United States, Brazil, Colombia, the Philippines, Panama, Taiwan, Venezuela, Mexico and Peru.
The largest number of applications was sent by young musicians playing violins (1st place), flutes (2nd place) and violas (3rd place).
Thank you for each and every application, we keep our fingers crossed.
