Form – a keyword. It's the thought of form that gave the idea to make MUSIC.DESIGN.FORM Festival – the festival that combines different art forms and unites them under one artistic program. The theme that glues music, image, architecture, design, new media together is to show that what's important, apart from the artistic message, is the final effect. What leads to it – the construction, record, or the tools used – put in the right form becomes work of art too.
The first edition of MDF Festival took place in September 2018. Its main theme was design in its broad sense, and the modern and timeless approach to designing. Starting with legendary and modern furniture exhibitions, site-specific sound installation, through industry meetings, workshops, and concerts with the use of 3D video mapping generated on the spot and finishing with the premiere performance of the piece written by... electric cars. During five days of the Festival and 17 different events, everything connected with design became one artistic manifesto.
The main theme of the second edition of MUSIC.DESIGN.FORM Festival which is to be held from the 13th to the 15th September is audioluminescence. Sound and light will play the lead roles, on the one side to be treated literally as artistic tools, on the other metaphorically as a course of action. We invited artists, activists, animators to face this theme and together use the music, image, and architecture in an extraordinary way. Again, it will be the chance to experience art with every possible sense.
Again, during three-day-lasting MDF Festival, the public will have a chance to see the Szczecin Philharmonic's alternative side. Followed by the light and sound paths, they will discover new, unexpected places in the building and unusual visuals in the white hall will leave them amazed. Similarly to the previous MDF edition, there will also be a light show on the Philharmonic's facade.
We can expect concerts performed by both Polish and foreign artists, premiere performances prepared especially for the Festival, exhibitions, workshops and educational meetings. Save three days of September 2019 for the Szczecin Philharmonic now.
MDF Festival is announced by a teaser made by Pushka Studio from Szczecin.
