This is the title of a documentary by Mateusz Żegliński, which was created especially to commemorate the 70th birthday of the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. In the film, we can see the musicians at work, from the backstage and from the perspective of the orchestra as close as the camera can approach. The author of the film, Mateusz Żegliński, through the prism of a group of double basses, shows us a world that music lovers usually do not see – the world of the orchestra from the backstage.

"Variation rondo for double bass", is a short documentary – an operator’s impression by Mateusz Żegliński, who shows members of the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. The author of the film focused on several musicians of the double bass section to give a detailed account of the musicians’ work. The film was made on the occasion of the Orchestra's Jubilee, which celebrates its 70th anniversary in the artistic season 2018/2019. Żegliński shows us musicians from the backstage, he persuades musicians to confide, shows them both from the professional and private side – he looks with the camera where music lovers usually have no chance to look.
I emphasize, first of all, the 70th anniversary of the orchestra, because everything happened thanks to people. Musicians who came here after the war and on October 25th, 1948, played the first concert as the Workers' Society of Music - says Dorota Serwa, the managing director of the Philharmonic.
