The book entitled “Principal Conductor” was prepared with the perceptive abilities of a newborn in mind during the first months of its life. The illustrations are high contrast with vivid shapes to reinforce the development of a baby’s sight and to also lead them into the world of musical instruments – says Alicja Niedźwiecka PhD, specializing in infant psychology at BabyLab, in the Psychology Department of the Warsaw University.
The premiere of the contrast book will take place on Sunday 23rd April during the workshops for children. The class will be held in the foyer next to the Symphony Hall and will last 45 minutes. Free-of-charge tickets can be picked up at the ticket office at the Philharmonic from Tuesday 18th April from 13:00. Due to the specific character of the class, the number of tickets is limited to 15 (one ticket equals one seat for one child and one guardian).
The book can be purchased from the shop at the Philharmonic as well as online for PLN 16.50. On the premiere day (23/04), “Principal Conductor” and other products for children including the comic book “Bon Ton”, “Z historii muzyki dla wszystkich – wierszyki” and memo cards will be discounted by 20%.
Browsing through the book together enables parents to build an emotional bond with their children. It is a great introduction for the child to the world of books.
