A year ago, Polish culture lost one of its greatest composers, whose work had a significant impact on the music of the 20th and 21st centuries. On Friday evening in the golden room you will be able to listen to, among others, Krzysztof Penderecki's Chaconne in memorial del Giovani Paolo II performed by the Penderecki Trio. We would like to invite you for a concert with the audience on March 12th at 7:00 PM. Tickets cost 35-40 PLN.
Krzysztof Penderecki is the most famous Polish composer of the 20th and 21st centuries. His works written in the 1960s brought him the worldwide fame. His international success was the result of such works as "Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima" or "The Passion of St. Luke ".
For many years, the composer surprised music lovers with bold ideas implemented by the best orchestral ensembles around the world. One of the most monumental works by the Maestro, who died in March 2020, is the symphony-oratorio "Seven Gates of Jerezolima". The piece commissioned by the authorities of Jerusalem was also performed on December 14th, 2018 at the Philharmonic in Szczecin under the baton of Krzysztof Penderecki.

We would like to get more, but we would like to thank you for what we got and what will be a wise lesson and inspiration for us to be bold and creative forever. On Friday evening, March 12th, on the eve of the inauguration of the 25th Ludwig van Beethoven Easter Festival, in the Philharmonic Hall we will hear the Penderecki Trio performed by Krzysztof Penderecki's Chaconne in memorial del Giovani Paolo II, transcribed by JaeJoon Ryu for the piano trio. The famous part of the "Polish Requiem" will be heard for the first time in the interpretation of this performance.
Trio Penderecki is a new, excellent music group, whose members are outstanding instrumentalists, the winners of international music competitions around the world. Their goal is to direct the chamber music to new directions, as well as to constantly expand the repertoire of the piano trio by creating innovative artistic events. The activities of the Penderecki Trio will be a tribute to their patron, the greatest Polish composer of our times.
The cellist Claudio Bohórquez is currently one of the most significant names in the music world. His victory in the International Music Competition in Geneva in 1995 opened the way to his world career. His younger colleagues are following his path. T
he violinist Mateusz Makuch is the winner of the Concerto Competition Morningside Music Bridge in Calgary (2013) and several other violin competitions: in Singapore, Athens, Paris, Vienna, London, Kiev, Rome, Fermo, Sarajevo, Stockholm, V'ac and Namur. T
he pianist Andrzej Wierciński has won, International Piano Competition in Saint-Priest (2019) and the Polish National Piano Competition. Frederic Chopin in Warsaw (2015).
The program of the concert also includes works by
Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvorák, which emphasize not only the emotional musical thought in which the band's musicians feel so well, but also represent the European ethnic elements in a universal musical language, in which the work of Krzysztof Penderecki was strongly rooted.
