Mateusz Żurawski - the Official Ambassador of ILYO 2022
Meet Mateusz Żurawski, the amazingly talented oboist – soloist of the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, lecturer in the Instrumental Department of the Academy of Art in Szczecin and former, two-time participant of the International Lutosławski Youth Orchestra. Mateusz will share with you his experiences and explain why it is absolutely worth joining ILYO.
From Monday, May 23, onwards, both on the ILYO website and on our Facebook profile, we will start publishing short videos with Mateusz. You will learn what our workshops look like, see our Philharmonic from the inside and hear valuable advice on how to prepare the video material needed for recruitment.

Mateusz Żurawski graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied under the supervision of Arkadiusz Krupa (Sinfonia Varsovia). He improved his skills at master classes led by eminent oboists, incl. Ralph van Daal (Robert Schumann Hochschule), David Walter (Paris Conservatory), Ivan Podyomov (Het Concertgebouw) and Christian Hartmann (Berliner Philharmoniker). Since 2021, he has been an oboist – soloist of the Philharmonic in Szczecin and a lecturer in the oboe class of the Szczecin Academy of Art. He also collaborates on a regular basis with such orchestras as: Sinfonia Varsovia, Sinfonietta Cracovia and with the Polonia Theater in Warsaw. As a soloist and chamber musician, he performs regularly all over Poland.
